The Nigerian singer, rapper and Lyrics Vet, Txmmyily rose from the ranks of SoundCloud and appears to be one of the nation’s more discussed emerging artists in the underground wave.
His music falls in the middle between Afropop, hip-hop, alté and hints of indie rock. Young, speedy and super online.
He is usually known alongside the other artists such as Zaylevelten, Wave$tar, Egertton, Paxslim, Luwa.mp4, Indi and Scotty Olorin.
All of them were listed together by Whak&Mo’s Corner, which chronicled the Nigerian underground scene at the end of 2025.
He is most known by his fans via ‘Body Work’ with Mavo, ‘Jaiye’, then his 2026 EP ‘Milly’. The latest single from him is “1 of 1”, which was released in August 2026.
He’s a part of that crowd as well, and is one of just a handful of artists who have gotten more than one play from The NATIVE (which is a pretty significant honor for an artist that began uploading loosies as a teenager).
Txmmyily Real Name
Tomisin Ogundipe is his real name.
It appears in almost every official credit line he has to his catalogue. When the album is listed on Shazam, it indicates that “Tomisin Ogundipe” is the songwriter on “Soke,” “Shoki,” “In my Benzo” and “Wassup. Genius puts him with a perfect direct name to name, even going to the extent of comparing him to TXMMYILY (Tomisin Ogundipe).
The earlier records have a slightly different spelling. Fashion Nova, Komole and “Ghetto Babe” list the composer in lower case as tomisin ogundipe. He appears on “Angelina” and “1 of 1” as “Ogundipe Tomisin. It is not different people that are causing these metadata formatting differences.
However there is one intriguing point. In his 2023 “Don’t Play” single which is with Iluvmsj, the writer is credited as ‘Timileyin Ogundipe’. This could be a second given name or old metadata which was never scraped. All releases after this one are based on Tomisin.
The Meaning Behind the Name Txmmyily
Take apart the stage name and you’ll see it is a straightforward one. The name “Txmmy” is Tommy with the vowel changed to x. “ily” is an internet shorthand for “I love you”. Together it spells Tommy, I love you.
This x-styling is widely seen among this new crop of Nigerian internet artists, which makes sense in light of how he gained his audience. The pronunciation is confirmed by him in music. As you can hear at the very end of the track on “In my benzo” he sings “Timmy I love you”!
He also answers to Milly. His Instagram handle is @txmmyilyy and the display name on the page is simply MILLY. The nickname became an integral part of his image that he changed the title of his 2026 EP to it. Some fans have begun mixing the two together, creating such as some nicknames “TimiMil” from the Timileyin credit and the Milly nickname written together.
How old is Txmmyily?
A variety of sources claim that as of 2026, Txmmyily is 18 years old. He has no official birthdate provided and no print media site provides one, so it’s a guess based on profile reporting rather than a birth certificate or an interview quote.
What is solid is the timeline. Produced his debut songs in 2022, making him a young teenager. Now that detail alters the way that you listen to that catalogue. The early material sounds like a teenager experimenting in real time. Very recent work has the sound of a person who is seasoned to it by years of practice.
One of the younger generation of Nigerian artists active today. He grew up completely immersed in the world of music, and all he experienced was the digital one. He’s at his home on SoundCloud, Audiomack, TikTok sounds and Instagram snippets. Radio was never the starting point.
Txmmyily Place of Origin
Txmmyily is Yoruba and Nigerian. The name Ogundipe is of Yoruba origin while Tomisin, Timileyin are Yoruba given names.
He’s yet to make an official declaration about his state of origin and hasn’t been interviewed for one. The size of the music is sufficient, however.
He sings and writes profusely in Yoruba and Nigerian Pidgin. Words for song titles such as “Komole,” “Jaiye,” “Soke,” “Shoki” and “OMO T’OH SHAN” are all Yoruba. On “Soke” he sings lines like “nowo e soke, ko wa loke” and “thank God Oluwa loke.”
On “In my Benzo,” he speaks Pidgin and Yoruba and English all in the same sentence, with words such as “For the game I be landlord, I be landlord, Rahman Jago.”
He operates out of a Lagos base, and from there, and beyond, up and down the Nigerian underground circuit. He is part of the Lagos events scene, X, and the group of designers, photographers and producers that is charted by Whak&Mo.
The other band members are also at his level of orbit; Mavo, Zaylevelten, Egertton, Monochrome, scottyolorin, Suono Sai and Kobilou.
So the honest position is this. He is a Yoruba Nigerian artist working in Lagos’ alternative scene, although he’s held back on where he’s from and which state it was.
Txmmyily Songs
Most people are unaware of the scope of his catalogue! This is the way it’s done.
He began 2022 with “Rack$,” which The NATIVE calls his “arrival.” In September 2022, “Wishing I Knew” with $at.urn came next.
2023 marked the year of his highest productivity thus far. “Past Mistakes” with Oz Ozzy came in February. Offlyne’s “End of the Rainbow” album was released in April. “Don’t Play” with Iluvmsj came out in June. Then came “Money & Motion,” “in my head” and “Holdin on, But not for long” with kortani. In September 2023 he released his debut EP “Velvet,” carrying songs like “Hey Girl,” “Do You Miss Me Too?,” “Strange” and “You.” That project leaned hard into indie rock and bedroom pop.
So 2024 is when he turned towards Nigeria. Len started showing up in ‘January’ as “Ghetto Babe”. “2Man” with Offlyne came out in May. “Side!” with Sir Napkin and SadBoyForLife came in June. In July, there was the arrival of “Fashion Nova” and “Komole” came in October from Kamy Beats. That same month, he also made a special appearance on a PAREBINY show called “OMO T’OH SHAN”.
His turning point was 2025. His next song “Body Work” with Mavo released on 23 January 2025, and it is his biggest song ever reaching 1 million streams. After that, more and more came: “omoge” (along with Tkid & COUNTR) in March, “Fashionista” (with Kenniigram) in April and “Angelina” with a 400k stream count crossing mark on 30 April 2025. In July, “247LUV” (with treygtk) hit, followed by Bazen and JoeyXcv.
“Jaiye” was released on 12 September 2025 on Dan Akins production, and was mixed by DOZ. It was already over 2000 sounds on social media before it even hit, and the Jupefruit directed video further increased that. He rounded off the year with “Shima” in the top place in December, and later in the same month with “Touch Your Body” with No11 and D2 WRLD respectively.
2026 has been his biggest year. He heated up fans with “BUST (Freestyle)” on SoundCloud before showcasing the leading single “Wassup” on the 8 May 2026. His EP “Milly” arrived on 22 May 2026. It has four tracks covering eight minutes and includes “Wassup”, “Soke”, “Shoki” with Zaylevelten and “In my Benzo”. Production was by Wana Sn, OYB, ELEMEN3 and Yo$tereo and Kayeeh and Tenski did the mixing and mastering. On 19 August 2026 he had “1 of 1” released via Yo$tereo, mixed and mastered by Skid Adams.
Some of the others samples he has included are (The Engine) Odunsi (“NBL (No Be Lie)”) features for many of the others including Offlyne, SadBoyForLife, Kurbi, Oziel G., PL0U and G4MI.
Txmmyily Record Label
Most of his career was spent as an independent artist. His singles for 2024 and 2025 include the words ℗ Txmmyily, under exclusive license to No More Parties, and ℗ 2024 TxmmyIly/No More Parties, respectively. This was a licensing deal in the sense that he did not lose control of this work – it was not a complete signing.
Under exclusive license from Txmmyily and No More Parties, “Jaiye” got a little shift.
In 2026 things went as they should. Both “Milly” and “1 of 1” have labels featuring the copyright notation “℗ 2026 Antagonists Music / Lizzy Records.” Lizzy Records is an independent British record label, Antagonists Music also has a rather great record store, hence Zay’s appearance on “Shoki”. Released credits on the EP list Antagonists Music, Lizzy Records and Gary Gary.
Txmmyily Style and Sound
In his review of “Milly,” the NATIVE encapsulated his development: Since his debut in 2022, he has matured from dancing through lesser genre styles of hip-hop and indie rock and bedroom pop into a more polished and unique Afropop player, the magazine stated.
His songs are short songs. The majority run in under two and a half minutes. He speaks about partying and money and cars and fashion and girls but there’s always a line dedicated to getting some gratitude or memory. On “1 of 1” he talks about his faith in Jehovah, and his days of using a Motorola phone. On “Soke” he thanks God for the come up.
Of course, being a workman is part of the charm too. He disappears for long stretches, builds quietly, then returns with something harder. To move from “Jaiye” to “Wassup” took nearly a year and, naturally, the buzz only went up.
